2002 Grizz winch mount??? Plowing questions>>
#1
I understand that there's a factory winch mount on the new Grizz; is that true?? So, what all is neccessary to mount the winch? I'll be taking advantage of the $69 winch deal whenever my Grizz gets in. Also, I'm going to get a plow to use with the winch. The dealer is selling it for $400.00 (good deal??). What stays on the quad from the plow when not in use? Is it a pain?? How is running the plow w/ the winch?? When installing the winch do I need a mounting plate/bracket, or does that come with the winch or Grizz?? I'm really getting impatient waiting for the 660 to come in. I've been eyeing a yellow 2002 450ES, and it's realy tempting since I can have that NOW! Thanks..OUT

I'm going against my usual forum etiquette by relpying to my own post, but, it truly is unfortunate that when someone has a legitimate post, that person can get no help or advice. However, if I posted some crap like what color is faster, yellow or red(?), Polaris' suck, or why am I still a trailblazer, I'd have 300 views and 20 relpies. Oh well, I guess no one has a winch for their Grizz, is that right?? Are the mounts not out yet?

Like Andy said they aren't out yet, my dealer also quoted me $400 for a plow so I guess that's going rate. My Ruby has a manual lift so don't know what is involved with hookup but it has a plate underneath with 3 u-bolts which go's on and comes off qutie easily.

That's a tough question PADZZ, I was partial to the solid axle before the Grizz and still think in some situations it is definitaly superior. Such as work, hauling something on the racks and such. I feel the Rubicons tranny is better than the belt(relax guys he asked my opinion), the gear selector on the Honda is better along with the plastic, which includes how it's fastened, the splash protection is better on the Ruby also. I like the floorboard on the Ruby better and the pegs are better, the third headlight is a plus to the Ruby too. It's an easy machine to ride and very stable, this thing has been rock solid since the day I bought it and it has been through some tough terrain with no problems what so ever. However already owning one I wanted to try something different of course the power difference is huge speed wise, I can't say too much about low end grunt because the Grizz is not broke in yet so I haven't put it to that test yet. The IRS provides a very comfortable ride more so than the Ruby and the seat is much softer. The ground clearance again is no contest
for the Grizz. I have 10 hours and 100 miles on the Grizz and this machine so far is very solid, no complaints or problems with water or mud. I like the rack coating on the Grizz better too. I don't feel it is quite as stable as the Ruby but wheels and tires can easily fix that. The absolute number one thing I love about the Grizz though is the 2wd, 4wd, 4diff lock option, and for this option alone I would buy the Grizz if nothing else mattered. The more I use it the more I like it and now can't stand the thought of being without it. Yamaha has changed this guys tune about that forever. Hope that long winded response answered your question and one other thing wait and get one of these two, as a prior owner of a 450s "I" feel these two are better machines.

3TV...I was wondering where you were hiding. What's the latest? Well, they said August..and it's now August...but I'll take no bets on that . I tried on that camper and my half ton is just too weak. Since I'm leasing it, I'll probably just wait til I get a 3/4 ton or better. Yeah, I'd like to check out your trailer. Did you get your new Cummins yet? Talk to you later.. OUT.
