Hi! Have any of you guys with 2000 Kodiaks and Supertrap exausts been experimenting with different jets and number of spacer disks?

They(supertrap) claims 4 disks are the minimum to use, and any more than 8 disks and you will probably need to re-jet the machine. My dad just picked up an IDS2 for his big bear and only used 8 of the 12, SO I was thinking I'd take his left over 4, plus the 12 that come with a new system, and I'd have 16. Noise is NO concern for me. I want POWER! I'm probably going to pick up a K&N as well, weather that's a factor or not I don't know.

Anyway. Any feedback would be nice in respect to jets, spacer disks, or whatever.

thanks.

I say put the disks on and take it for a ride. Check the spark plug when you get back and see. If it is white rejet to a larger main jet.

I think the jet kit is a waste of money. I have tried it and according to my GPS I couldnt find a better combination than the stock jetting. The Supertrapp IDS2 and K&N filter did give me more power and 2-3 MPH on top end over the stock muffler and stock filter. If you do need to get more fuel then you can move your clip one more postition. Most ATVs, motorcycles come from the factory on the rich side for safety purposes. Putting the Supertrapp and K&N filter on leaned mine out. All ATVs are different and you may have great success with yours. For me it was a waste of money and time.

As far as my Supertrapp disk went I couldnt find much, if any difference in low end torque when I had 8 or 12 disk in. I did however notice and see "GPS" a 1-2 MPH more with 12 disk as opposed to 8. I would love to have 4 more "free" disk to put in mine. Like ridnwarrior said, put the disk in and try it. Its not going to hurt anything. Good luck.
