If you look at the lid of your raptors a-box you will see a hose
that goes to the engine (crank breather) well this sucks dirt in
the cure is to go to your dealer and get a 1/2 uni crank filter for
13 bucks.

Its the one when you take the lid completely off and is hard to get back on when you refit the lid. How is it mounted or attacthed? Is it between the fitting on the air box and the hose. Chet

K&N also makes them. Most of the dealers are asking $25.- for them but, I went to a custom Harley shop and got one for $15.-.

to install you simply pull the hose off and the filter has a stem that fits
inside the hose with a hose clamp the filter has a plastic tab with a hole
and a wire tie. i just pushed mine back by the snorkle and left it lose that way i can
take it off and clean easily.

Thanks again for info, VMAX12
I will look into that next time I'am at Yamaha shop. On my Recon they have designed a spot molded into the aircleaner box under the air filter that is a small crankcase filter(sponge) that you clean when you clean the air filter. Chet
