This weekend I had my Warrior radared by a police radar. I hit 61, but had a tad bit of throttle left. What are your radared speeds if any?

I had the opportunity a while back to get my speed clocked on Police radar by an officer who is a family friend. I was surprised to see that I could reach 87 MPH with stock gearing but slightly larger tires(20" ITP holeshots). He helped me calibrate my speedometer quickly with the radar gun

This is all mixed up...what's up with Dirt Wheels magazine(a pretty reliable source) saying a Banshee's top speed is 67mph, 400EX is at 64mph, and a Sport400 at 61mph, then you hear people say that their stock Banshee reaches 87mph!?!?! Come on, I'm not saying you guys are lying, but what are you supposed to believe when you compare what a rider in the forum says and what a magazine says and come up with a 20mph difference? Sounds a little crazy, right? It's pretty hard to decide what to believe with that type of thing going on.

I just rode my freinds stock blaster down the highway with my trusty gps in hand,I weight 200lb., the max. speed recorded was 56.3, the max. speed for my 98 Wolverine with 25" tires, jet kit and ids Supertrap pipe with about 90lb. of added weight is 56.5, all the speed readings are taken with a Garmin 111, this gps recorder has always given accurate readings, read it and weep, gps doesn,t lie!!!!

I don't see how deep? I would figure a blaster would get 56mph rather easily. I swear, all you have to do is put up a post about speed and the doubters come a runnin!

Good luck to the guy with the 87 mph Banshee! These guys around here will call B.S. on you from now till christmas!

I believe you Harold. I've seen printed top speeds of quads in magazines and have thought a lot of them to be rather pessimistic. I saw one that reported the griz at 53, magnum at 53, sportsman at 51, AC 500 at 50, honda 450 at 48, and suzuki 500 at 47. I think these are a bit lower to tell the truth. You read too many contradicting things in magazines. I would figure the grizzly to definitely be over 53 mph, unless it was malfunctioning. It supposed to be faster than a Wolverine, and the Wolverine is by no means a slug. This is a very controversial topic, because everyone wants to be the fastest, no matter what they drive. I would believe a GPS before a magazine review any day. I do believe that magazines have been known to stretch or variate the truth from time to time.

The Ragazines are right. You guys with these outragous speeds are way out to lunch. I own a stalker and they don't lie. Unlike some people clocking you to make you feel good! Top speeds 99 500 scrambler is 64-65. 500 Sportsman 56. Banshee was way out to lunch sorry stockers and even most mods are not that quick. Can't wait to clock the new doo.
