Timberwolf Modifications and Accessories
#1
I have a 97 Timberwolf 2WD basically stock with the exception of 22x12.5-10 Blackwaters on the rear which are a major improvement over the stockers for mud riding. I've also installed 2 55W Halogen Driving lights hooked up to a simple toggle switch in addition to the 2 stock headlights Now these are a must for anyone who does a considerable amount of night riding like I do. The difference between these and the stock 25W lights are like night and day. I've also got a Moose 50" Snow Plow. The plow works great you just need to throw a few sand bags on the rear rack for extra traction. Has anyone ever made any modifications or added any accessories to their Timberwolf? If so What types of mods and/or accessories have you added and did they make a noticible improvement?

I have owned 2 t-wolves, one which I DID modify and the other was left relatively stock. Here's a few ideas for ya.
-pull the baffle out of the muffler
-get a jet kit for the carb
-DG, Supertrapp and Cobra all make muffler for it
-Web Cams has 2 cams avail. for it
-add a K&N air filter w/outerwears pre-filter
-poweroll makes a stroker kit
-get a higher compression piston
-lighter weight tires--takes less power to turn them vs heavy tires
-cut excess weight--less weight-faster accel.
-attach an extra air intake hose to air box--or get the little airbox lid vents that are 2" in diam, and take 2 seconds to put in.
-I know a bore kit is avail--think its from FST (Four Stroke tech)-can't remeber for sure though
-get a larger headpipe (not sure if one is avail(but the one on the new Beartracker will fit, but it may not reach the clamp on the muffler, so that may require adding a length to the pipe-no big deal if you have access to a welder
If i think of anything else, I will post 'em.
