I'm new to the sport and just got my brand new 2002 Warrior about a month ago and I love it. It runs great. However I've noticed that when it gets hot, I can hear a little bit of valvetrain noise from the engine. Thinking that the valves need adjusting, I called my dealer; who advised me that they could adjust the valves, but doing so wouldn't quiet it down much because the 350 4-stroke Warrior engine is naturally a bit noisy. Is this true? Does anyone else notice this noise?
Most importantly should I worry about it?

Actually, after i got my valves adjusted they turned out to be alot louder!

Just make sure the vavles are in the right tolerances. some viberation is ok. you did break it in correctly right?

 

After my first maintenance I noticed that my valves were still very very loud and when I got thinking about it I realized the charged me $55 instead of like $80 to service it, even though I had told them to adjust the valves. They said they didn't have record of whether they were adjusted or not, but to bring it down and they would do it for free. Great... I took it down and they adjusted it and said they were in tolerance, but were on the high side, he put it in the middle and I can still hear them, but not as loud.

Everyone says they make more noise than most models, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Besides, it's a Warrior, it will last forever (with a little maintenace of course.)
