Raptor/works shocks

No, I have Elka's but I've heard alot of bad things about works internals.
If you scroll down look under "CAN YOU JUMP THIS HIGH" post.
Go to the guys sight and you'll see the remains of a Works shock after jumping with a DS. Broken in half! Later

I don't know about all the works shocks rumors. I have no raptor...But have been running triple rates w/rezzies on my banshee for years now.
I do jump it....I would prefer not to land on a flat like the guy on the ds did though!
Thw works shocks have a long track record....I, personally do not need to buy the elka shoks just to keep up with a brand name.
That is what most of the mods I found end up being...Not a contest on who can ride...But rather a competition on who can spend the most money to keep up with trends.

Hey Jeff,
I'm just trying to help you out and let you know what I've heard and seen. You like works go for it. I haven't seen or heard one thing good about them. I was between Axis, TCS, and Elka. For about $400 cheaper
(for front and rear)the Elka's are the same or better build quality.
Adj. ride height, self sagging device, adj. comp. and rebound, 5/8 shafts, piggyback design, all aluminum construction etc. My whole setup was $1400.
By the way whether there dual rates or not with Rezzy's or not it doesn't matter when the shaft breaks in half. Which I've seen a few times with works and have never seen from another aftermarket suspension. I have seen stock shocks break shafts also.

I just put a set of Works triple rate w/res steelers on my Raptor. The main reason I got them was due to a really good experience with Works shocks on my 1990 Warrior. They made a HUGE difference on my Warrior compared to stockers. I'd say on the order of a 60-70% better ride quality "feel".... On the Raptor, the improvement seems somewhat less noticeable. I'd say 20-40% improvement in ride quality. They are properly valved and sprung by Works for my weight and riding style.
I'm happy with them and they are pretty economical but I think the stock front shocks have come a long way in 11 years so the differences might be a little less noticable as compared to an older bike. I ride mostly desert (aggresive) and dunes and don't really do much jumping (unless something goes terribly wrong).
Bottom line: I think they are probably worth it but you'd likely see more difference with the Axis, TCS, PEP and other higher priced units.
