I just found out mrturbo (www.mrturbo.com) makes a turbo for the raptor, anyone have any experience or heard anything about how well its working out? they claim it doubles the horsepower, but I would sure like to hear that from someone not selling it

ive got mine on order. 3 weeks lead time. it was $2900 and i had to ship them my exhaust and carbs for modifications. kit supplies all necessary parts- turbo, plumbing, fuel rail and pump, and water proof-dust resistant filter. the unit is self contained and completely sealed to keep out the elements. supposed to make nearly 70hp on 8lbs of boost on a totally stock motor. so, the only thing i need to do is sell my +1 swinger and get a +4 swinger!

How reliable are these kits?
Would a turbo decrease engine life?
Is a turbo just for drag-racing?

Thanks!!

Man I hope it works for you, but it should cut down on the reliability dramatically. Also, the tranny won't handle the increase in power. Hope I am wrong.

They say if you run 7-8pounds of boost it won't effect engine life.
Usually the turbo's go bad before the engine does. At least that's how it is with cars anyway. As for the tranny I would say it would decrease it's life especially if you have one of the defective 2nd gears, but at 7-8 pounds of boost it would be like doing a Trinity 720 kit. So hopefully the trns will hold up. I'm looking into getting this setup also. Good Luck

true, running only 7-8 lbs of boost shouldnt effect the tranny. it all depends how you treat stuff though. if you drop the clutch and hard shift alot, even a stock motor will bomb a tranny. ive also got a turbo powered suzuki hayabusa, so im somewhat familiar with the consequences. with the correct gearing and proper maintence and respect, there shouldnt be any problem with reliability and longevity. now, when i get board and try to jump to a 2 stage boost controller and run up to 16 lbs...then the s%!t will hit the fan!
