I was wondering:

If I buy a brand new Banshee, what would I do with the stock parts that I don't want? (Axle, Shocks, A-arms, Pipes, Axle carrier, Foot guards, Handlebars, etc.) I am really thinking about getting one, but I really don't want all those extra parts lying around here. I have a TON of ATV parts I don't use as it is. I was thinking if I could somehow get money or not have to buy those parts I don't want, it would be great. I am not too turned on by the ALBA quads, although I have not called them. Maybe they would do up a quad the way I want, (without the grafix)...? Plus, the whole shipping/freight deal is not too appealing either.

I really want to get a new one before they quit making them. The only problem is, I am almost 100% certain I will be out-riding the stock suspension as soon as it gets broke in. When I got my 400EX, I pounded the crap out of it before I put new suspension on. I don't want to do that to another new quad.

Is there a place that buys Brand new stock parts from a new quad? (Why would there be? Who would want them? )

I think Yamaha (all ATV manufacturers) should have a custom order form.

Thanks for any input!
phil

Easy question.
Answer: EBAY.
No joke. You can and will sell ALL of your stuff there. However, many will recommend that you keep your stock parts, because if you sell the modified quad you will get killed and come nowhere close to what you have put into it! Better to strip the aftermarket stuff off, sell the quad stock and then dump the aftermarket goodies on Ebay - that scenario WILL easily beat selling a modded quad and then the stock parts in auction. But either way, you would be surprised about the auction. Heck, they'll buy it by the BOLT!! later.

I agree about the stock quad thing. You will make alot more on having a CLEAN, stock quad than a nice modified one, then selling the mods. On things like the A-Arms, well, I broke one of mine, so I will have to sell the bottom ones, then the upper left one separate. Ebay is awesome for parts!! Just do a search for Yamaha Banshee and look at all the stock parts!! There's a set of upper stock a-arms on there for $91.00!!!!

Thanks guys. That is definately something to think about. If I do get a Banshee, I will probably keep it forever, I still have all the ATV's that I ever owned in my garage (Except a 200X that I wish I had never sold). I have some sort of addiction or something!

Well,

I got a 2001 Blue Banshee today... WOO HOO!!!!!!

I can't wait to get it home and start "breaking" it in!

Now, I gotta start research on pipes. Don't have any idea what to get.

I know I am getting Elka suspension and wider A-arms/ axle.

I have been thinking also about the 2 into 1 carb setup, just because the dual carbs kinda scare me. We shall see.
