I am looking to get into quading and would like to know which one of these machines is the fastest and would be the better performer ...Take in mind i live in Kansas and there are not any mountain climbing to be done around here...

both machines are fairly close but the beartracker has a higher performing engine and a better suspension feel to it.

 

I was wondering the same thing before i bought my beartracker. If you llk at the two machines you can tell the Beartracker is bigger and has a better feel to it (my oponion) The beartracker has a towing cap. of 728lbs. the 220 has about 550lbs. I think, i don't remember. The tracker has only 15 cc advantage, but it has a 34mm carb while the Bayou has a 24mm. I only weight about 120lbs. so it will get me going about 50 mph.
The racks are much bigger and have a larger capacity. So far i have had no problems with my beartracker and have used it for many things. The wiring is very good in water, but i wish that the air box was more water proofed. I went flying through a river in my area a few times and the motor stalled. but I was going 35 to 40 mph. and all i had to do was to reach underneath and pull the plug to drain the airbox and it ran fine.

 

go with the BearTracker it is larger and more powerful, and not allot more money and you get allot more machine for the extra bucks.

 

Go with the beartracker. Yamaha is know for its warranty and durability. Extra 15cc. Bigger, more power, better made engine, better handling, and sharper looking bike. I have had my ('99)BearTracker since the summer of '99, it has ran non-stop through just about everything always pulling two people, and has never even thought about letting me down. All around I think that it is a great bike.

If you want better performance and reliability and handling why don't you look at the Honda Recon? It is the #1 250 sport/utility quad on the market!! that's right the champion! the TRX Recon is faster, better suspension, better handling, has more grunt and power, and has more accesories available. it also wheelies better, and weighs alot less. not convinced yet? then go take a ride on the new recon. you'll love it!

 

Get a Recon there the best 250 out there, by far!!
