I don't get it. I've basically got a similar setup and can run 310's at Glamis. Either you've got an air leak, or it's detonating from too low of an octane.

You've probably already posted this before, but what are the EXACT symptoms of it running lean?

I find it had to believe that your lean with that big of a jet. Make sure no air leaks, also be sure your are putting pleanty of running time on the plugs if this is how you feel it is lean it takes a good ride before the plugs start to get color

Not possessed. I haven't seen any divine intervention in the last thousand years of so. I sincerely believe that you have an intake leak. You gotta check the carb boots, reed blocks, base gasket, carb caps etc. There's no way that you are running lean with 380's!! That's ridiculous. Other areas might include the crank seals (are you losing tranny oil?), if they leak, usually you'd have plug fouling probs, then once the oil is gone, you'd get really lean. If all this checks out, it's professional mechanic time.

I have a similar set up with FMF Fatty's and Boyesen power reeds along with a Pro Flow filter/kit with the air box cover off. I am running 310 mains with the needle raised one notch. Runs perfect and the jetting looks good.
