ok i think we all heard a nough about the banshee.every time they lose at something therse always an explation for why it lost rite.well we all know that the banshee is a mean quad but lets face the fact that the banshee might be faster than the 400ex. but the 400ex can can climd more hills than the banshee now can't it specially on soft dirt the only thing the banshee is good at doing is drag racing and sping it's wheels the 400ex has real power. and real power for climbing hills and also handles much better

Yeah the 400EX does have real power don't it. Real Little power. Climbing hills, I've never had a problem climbing hills. If your to sissyfied to not have the Banshee in the powerband going up hills then you won't climb it as fast but you won't have a problem doing it. 400ex is a woods quad and the Banshee is a high perfromance quad for racing. Three of my friends had 400EX's and they traded them in about a year ago for the first. Guess what they traded them in on. That's right a Banshee, and they never looked back. I'm not putting the 400 down(though I should) but it is not faster than a Banshee or even close to it. There's a big difference in power so I don't see how it could be as fast or faster than a Banshee. Let's not forget that were comparing a 2 stroke to a thumper. How great it must be to live in denial all your life. Probably got smoked by a Banshee and has been on a mission to diss it ever since.

Who cares about a bike that has been the same for about 13 years. the banshee had its time and now its time for them to step down. the 400EX is the best quad ever built. The ds650 will have to have no flaws to be better than the 400EX.

I'm tired of hearing all this crap about 400EX's being faster and better than Banshee's and everything else. There not, so all of you disalusioned people need to realize that they aren't. 400EX is best woods quad maybe and that's it. The Banshee hasn't really been changed for 13 years but that's because it has been the highest selling quad on the market and the fastest so Yamaha hasn't had a need to improve upon an already good thing. Even the 440 kits on the EX can't make them keep up with a Banshee, let alone stock versus stock. The DS has a better chance of being the new best quad than the 400EX. There is no way that the EX is already and has been the king of quads. This really shows your ingorance blasterkiller.

Everybody seems to think that the Banshee is the baddest race quad in the world, so why is it that all of the best racers in the world ride 250R's??? To give others a chance???? -- I don't think so, they ride them because they are the baddest race quads ever (and Honda was making these before Yamaha was making the Banshee)

Good Day All

I just went to my local dealer here in Glendale, AZ, today and I took a very close look at the DS650. That thing is HUGE, sitting on the bike felt like sitting on a 600 class street bike, not only is it long but it is very wide as well. I was impressed with the build quality of the bike and it had some pretty trick components on it from the factory, i.e., screen guard in fron of radiator and electric radiator fan, killer shocks, extended A-Arms, aluminum wheels, monster 530 O-ring chain, and a nice air box design(props to Bombardier). I can't wait to pull up next to one of these quads race him up the hill in the dunes

I would like to drag this thread on a little big longer, and leave no dowbt for all the banshee owners. The LT500R was THE fastest, most horsepower quad ever produced.

A 500R with a pipe will not be beat by any banshee unless it has one of these three.

Big bore kit (more displacement)
Running on alcohol
Increased compression

p.s. The quadzilla only weights around 10lbs more than a banshee so dont try that one

Sounds like a bunch of childish whining to me anymore. None of your fairyland statements can be backed up since slowzillas are not faster than banshees and a few other quads like 350X trikes I have seen blow by zillas. I can see this thread is getting to some folks.

All I have to say is you have to hand it to Bombardier thay made a great sport quad on there first try. Yes it needs some fine tuning but it is still a good quad. I am not saying it is faster than a Banshe or slower for that matter, that still remains to be seen.
