If its anything like a banshee or raptor airbox, I wouldnt leave it like that, because on raptors and banshees you ahve to put the lid on yo seal the filter along the top, you should buy a pro-design intake for it if you want to do this, you wont be sorry.

It will be fine. You will however have to bump your main jet up a size or two from the increased flow of the open airbox. DOnt ride it like that for too long without richening up your jetting or it will run too lean.

Yes it will be ok but do a plug chop and jet acourdingly. The olny thing if you might want to get a differant filter like a k&n if you ride in dusty conditions or like a uni if you are in mud conditions.

K&N filters are great to get out that extra horsepower because they are so freeflowing, but that comes at the expense of letting in more dust. I wouldnt trust the K&N in real dusty conditions, but if you get an outerwears for it too then it should be fine. I the UNI is an all around good filter, it traps dirt and dust very well and is more free flowing than the stock one.

Get your airbox lid and drill about 10 writing pen size wholes in it then get a peice of screen and screw it onto the top, this will give better air flow as well as keep a lot of dirt out. Next take the top part of the snorkel off. Then put another peice of screen on the peice of snorkel that is connected to the cover.
