I cleaned out the filter on my 97 Kodiak and was wondering about how much air was actually getting to the engine. It seems like there could be a ton of air that could be sucked in, but isn't. The 400 pulls pretty hard for air and I was wondering if there was a way I could increase the air taken in?

Put a K&N filter in it. Using a K&N filter gives the greatest flow of air intake while still using an air filter. I put one in my Grizzly, not because of power, but because I didn't like Yamaha's stock design. It improved the throttle response.
