On page 36 there is a 650ex. It has the dirtbike xr 650 motor in it and it has right about 50hp and it goes 110mph STOCK! Now that is what I am talking about!

Do you really believe all that you read in a magazine? I do believe the 50hp part, but when the XR650 motorcycle itself barely makes it to 110mph, how do you honestly believe the heavier, much less aerodynamic quad is going to go that fast? A reality check is in order here! Someone needs to come back from fantasy land.

scottd,

Yes, I was thinking that the xr650 would only hit 100+ after the HRC "power-up" kit. By the way, who has heard of a stock 650ex motor anyway? I mean wouldn't there have to be a 650ex quad to start with?

Since there are lots of tweaked Raptors out there that produce 50+ hp and yet only go about 80mph, logic would dictate that the EX would perform about the same. Agree?

On the custom 650EX 110 mph is pusing it but 95 or 105mph may be. The one think I due know is that it eats the rear ITP XCT for lunch. They have to replace the tires not because they are flat but because the ***** are worn off.

It probably goes 110 miles per hour on the DYNO. I believe dyno can graph horsepower vs. speed, so thats where they came up with the 50hp at 110mph figure. It easy to attain speeds like that on a dyno, no drag to worry about.

come on guys. It will do 110 down a mineshaft with wind behind it. Anyway, you won't see one as a production model with that horsepower number.

The 110 mph was on the dyno. The motor is from a XR650, Honda's offroad dirtbike.
