A GREAT WAY TO HAVE A TRULY SLEEPER MACHINE,AND WHEN USED WITH THE PROPER AMOUNT OF FUEL AND FOR SHORT BURSTS IT WILL NOT HURT A MOTOR,ACTULY COOLS IT A LITTLE DUE TO THE EXTRA FUEL PRESENT FOR THE NOS,OF COURSE THE HARDER YOU PUSH YOURE MOTOR THE SOONER IT WILL NEED REPAIR AS WILL THE REST OF YOURE DRIVE TRAIN..I WOULD THINK THE CRANK WOULD NEED TO BE WELDED TO BE TRULY RELIABLE AND HANDLE THE POWER..I HAVE SEEN PRICES FOR AROUND 500...SEEMS KIND OF HIGH TO ME..YOU CAN GET A SYSTEM FOR A CAR FOR THAT MUCH...INSTALATION IS STRAIT FORWARD AND SHOULD ONLY INVOLVE PLACEING ONE OR 2 INJECTORS IN YOURE INTAKE PATH...IM NOT SURE HOW THE ADITIONAL FUEL IS SUPPLIED FOR THE NITROUS SYSTEM ON A BIKE.

Nitrous Express makes a kit for about $480. The kit comes with everything needed for installation, including a fuel pump and a 2.5 pound bottle. Adjustability is from 15-50HP.
That is expensive considering automotive applications start at about $350.
Oh Yea, you will loose some reliability....especially with 50 extra horses. 15 should'nt hurt anything though IMO.

I have NOS in my current car and on 2 previous atvs. On my car ('96 Intera GSR) I've been spaying for 4 years with no problems. On an old atc185s, I sprayed for 3 years and never had a problem.
The secret to reliability is to keep the HP within the engine components tolerence range. A raptor with a 15 shot would scream while remaining very reliable. Infact for $500 it is the most cost effect, reliable form of HP you could get.
Comparably, a pipe will cost you about $400 make a bunch of noise and give you 4 real HP if you are lucky. A cam will move the HP around with very little gain at about $200 and make your machine a rough running pile of junk. A big bore kit will run about $800 and make your bike really unreliable.
With NOS your bike runs nice and smooth just like stock, but when that pesky banshee lines up next to you it's goodbye time. Also if you sell your bike you could take it off and use it on the next bike.

I used it all day on my 185s, I was 13 and would ride about 30-40 hours a week. I would got through 1-2 bootles a week. You just have to keep your HP boost low, this is determined by the jet in the NOS system. And you have to remember to not hold it open for more than 12-15 seconds at a time. Trust me 12 seconds is a long time! Keep in mind a stock raptor will do a quarter mile in about 15 seconds.
Your real power gains are going to be in the low to mid range, with a 15 shot it will launch so hard you won't know what to do. It will not help you too much on the top speed becaue you will come up against the REV limiter real fast unless you gear up.
The coolest thing is if you could hide it and keep a stock exhaust, then you could pull up to some noisy obnoxious bike (like mine) and just destroy them.
