Kodiak Mods

Sorry to duplicate prior posts but.... I've been riding for over a year I'm 30 something and my Kodiak which I love to donut on and cut angles in the wood frequently finds one of the rear tires off the ground. I've never lost it yet but my friend did the first time he rode it. I'm wondering if anyone had feedback on the aluminum wheel extenders from highlifter? On the performance side I was also seeking feedback on the K&N filter. Do I need or want to reject if I get the filter? Prior posts on the boards are dubious on the eshaust side so I'm not going to attempt it. I also was wondering about the clutch replacement although....My baby eats alot of quads off the line and many 500cc machines. For a 500 pund bike and my 155 pounds its awesome. BTW 69 Mach 1 428CJ!

You probably wont need to rejet the Kodiak with a K&N filter but you should move the clip on the needle on slot up. This, along with the K&N will lean the Kodiak out some and make it more efficient in the combustion. All ATVS, motorcycles come from the factory jetted a little rich for safeties sake. If you wanted to go all out do like I did and get the K&N, Dyno jet kit and Supertrapp or Big Gun.
I take it you havnt gotten larger tires so Im asking if you can get full wheelies on level ground only by jerking up on the handlebars. I can get wheelies all day long with my Kodiak.

Kiss,
I've never popped a wheelie, but may try tomorrow. Are you happy with your mods? Did you put in a clutch kit? What di the tires do for your ride? Would you recommend wider tires or the aluminum spacer plate? Did the supertrap do anything for you? Don't Sportsman 500's eat dirt and mud well?
Thanx

Im very happy with my mods. I dont have a clutch kit in as of yet. The tires are a little rough when going about 1mph. When Im trail riding I dont even notice them. If you go with a taller tire like I did and ride a lot of off camber hills like I do then I would recommend the aluminum spacers like the ones High Lifter sells. I will have a set next summer. The supertrapp "along with the jet kit and K&N" gave me 3mph on top end and increased low end also. This past Saturday I took out the quiet core and cut it in half. I then knocked out the internal babble inside the core. I repacked the packing with what little I had left and pushed it back into the Supertrapp houseing. I installed all the disk and rode it. I could tell right off it was very sluggish. I checked the plug and it was white. I went up one main jet size to a 130 and left the needle on the 4th slot. Thats when I started getting wheelies with the stock tires just by pulling up on the handlebars. This is on level ground and it can be done in low range as well as high. I tried it with the 27" Mudbugs and can only get them about 2' off the ground according to my wife. The Mudbugs are a lot heavier than the stockers are. Also the Bugs wont come up at all in low range. I havnt gotten a chance to test top speed yet but look forward to it tomorrow or Thursday.
