jetting and altitude?
#1
Do you guys rejet when you go to different altitudes. I am jetting my raptor tonight and have read the dynojet instructions and they give you a list with what jets to use for certain altitudes, but do you rejet when you say go below certain altitudes.
I live and ride mostly at around 6000 ft and then I travel sometimes to places that are in the 3000-4000 ft range. I plan to jet for the 3000-6000 ft range that dynojet gives you. But if I go above or below that range would I need to rejet.
I know that last time I was down around 3500 ft the bike ran much better than it does at my home around 6000ft. I don't think it is jetted right for this altitude.
What do you guys do?
Thanks
Paul

Dynojets written instructions assume certain mods that you may or may not precisely have.
I was suprised when I called dynojet and was told to ignore the written instructions, since my mods varied slightly from their typical mods. They then told me which jets/settings to use for my particular setup and altitude, and they were right on.
Find their ph# at dynojet.com.

I took my Raptor to Colorado this summer and ran it up to altitudes of 10,500' running a FMF pipe and 140/145 jets and was very happy with the way it ran. I was expecting the worse but didn't feel I needed to back off on the jets at all because it was doing all I asked of it.
