#1
I have a chance to get a killer deal on an old style grizz.I already know all the differences between it and the new one.My question is this, for anyone that has owned the old style one how do you like it? Any problems. My buddy has one but it only has 100 miles on it and I can't really for an opinion from it....Any feedback good or bad would be nice.Thanks.

I had a 1998 Grizzly and was very pleased with it. My new 2002 Grizzly has addressed all of the major items that I was not overjoyed with on my 98. For cruising through the woods or trail riding at a moderate pace the 98 was a great ride. The problem came whenever I tried to keep up with the Warriors and ex's, it just turned my arms into noodles. I also used mine around the property for tree cutting and dragging, it never disappointed me. In the winter it was also an awesome snow plow machine as well as a snow toy. I think the key to buying an old style Grizzly is to determine what type of riding you do the most. It is most definitely a utility machine first with some limited usefulness as a sport machine. After riding the 2002 Grizzly for several weeks, it is definitly a better high speed trail machine. Good Luck with your decision.

You can't go wrong on the 600 grizzly's especially from 99-2001, they are industructable. They will probably be the best over all the new ones because it has less technical stuff meaning less to go wrong with, and they are also really powerful and fast. 60mph, fast enough for me and in a drag race with a HO were almost even. The only down side is it does not ride as smooth as then 660, nor does it have liquid or a diff lock, but for rock tough it has. It has not let me down one bit, I've put 3600km's and just changed the front breaks last month, that's it besides oil changes, and seeing it is air cooled use SYNTHETIC OIL and it will keep it cool.
The tranny's are great, I have a friend with a 98 grizz and he has 8000 km's on it and is on the same belt. Yam and Arctic cat and Suzuki have the best trannie, with yamaha coming out with it back in 97.
Good luck on your choice. The new 660 is the Cadillac of the grizzly family and has alot of great things but it comes with a hefty price too. I will probably trade some day but while my tank keeps holding up like it has I feel a loyalty to it.
Thanks

I have owned a 99 grizz since it was brand new. I have close to 3000 thousand miles on it. I can tell you with the utmost of confidence that the older grizz is a excellent atv. I have never had a problem with it and i have rode it as hard as you cna ride a atv. So I would recomend to you to buy one.
