Cold Banshee won't start....
#1
On my 97 Banshee I just bought, it starts fine when in the 75deg shop but left in the garage or outside in 20-30deg temp it will not start without priming thru the plugs. Any ideas on what will make this start easier?

You have to richen your jets for colder weather, and lean them for hotter. If you have a manual, it tells exactly what main jets and idle jetting to run for what temperature and sea level. It is probably very lean with cold weather, and the warm shop richens it and so does the priming.

Dominator is right, you need to richen it up a bit. For starting the bike, you will want to change the pilot jet. This jet operates the idle circuit on your bike. Contact a local bike shop and see what jets they recommend. If you have modified the bike at all, you will have to make larger jetting adjustments. Buy a few different sized main jets too. Humidity, altitude, and temperature will cause jetting changes in your bike. contact a reliable shop or list any mods and current altitudes and im sure some of the other guys in here can help you set it up pretty close for your area.

I got the manual over the weekend...that should help me, also I check to see what jets are in it now and get an assortment. In the manual it says it has extra jets included but of course I didn't get them with the bike. It also has FMF pipes and was only used in the summer to run the dunes at Moses Lake so bigger jets hopefully will take care of it....thanks.

If you havnt changed the air filter in it and have the fmf pipes, you should be running around a 260 or 270 main. if you change the air filter, it will be a bit bigger. they told me to run a 35 pilot jet with my pipes. I also run fmf's. at your altitude, it might call for a bit smaller one though. good luck.
