Raptor - Flipping front shocks

I noticed in all the FMF adds that they have the front shocks upside down. What is this suppose to do for it ?

That's a very good question. I know why motoX bikes and some street bikes went with upside down shocks, but the same reason could not apply to ATVs. As it would increase the CG, I can only assume there must be a good reason to do it, but the only thing I can come up with is that it would somehow decrease the contamination of the shocks with dirt.

It reduces the unsprung weight by attathing the heavier body of the shock to the frame, which allows the suspesion to react faster and remain in contact with the ground more...
Everything that is attatched to, or moves with the lower shock mount, wheels, tires, swingarm, a arms, axle brakes, etc. is considered unsprung weight, everything that is attatched to the top shock mount, frame, motor, rider etc. is considered sprung weight because it suspended by the springs.

OK JUST FLIPPED THE FRONT SHOCKS..THE FRONT FEELS SOFTER AND THE REBOUND IS REALY FAST.BUT THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME DIFFRENCE IN THE SHOCK SHAFT TRAVEL AS OPOSED TO SPRING TRAVEL,COMPRESSION IS SMOOTH THERE IS A SLIGHT JOLT,PLAY OR KNOCK ON THE REBOUND.ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS.I HAVENT RIDDEN ON THEM YET.
