Hello everyone,

I have Douglas wheels .190 on my machine and for some reason, it seems like they bend very easily around the bead. Has anyone else experienced this problem with their wheels? I'm not hitting rocks or anything like that, I just do regular trail and some hill climbing. If you did bend your wheels at the bead, is there a way to fix the wheel? Any information would be greatly appreicated.

Thank you,

IronBear

NO to all of the above. You are hitting rocks or something and will end up cracking your rims. I would suggest getting Douglas .90 rims or ITP steel Rims. Very strong and no problems...

I had the same problem. I bought OMF's with rim rings to protect the edge of the rim.
I have hit some pretty big rocks and no dings so far.

Check out my pic's with rims.

I have been runing douglas .190 for over a year, and yes I always beat them up on the rocks, my stock rims were getting "square" from the beating. get beadlocks ($$$) if it really bothers you. and yes you can take them off and straighten them out a bit (carefully) with a heavy steel hammer, dont bother though if they are bent so bad they wont hold air

Hi VRaptor,

The rims are not bent that bad, just a little. They are not loosing air yet. I would like to correct the problem so that it doesn't get worse.

just take them off put them on a solid (concrete) surface and carefully work the aluminum straight with a hammer, it takes a while, be patient and work it easy and you can get them back to "like new" condition, dont whale (wail?) on them, go easy

use a dead blow hammer with plastic head
