Does the Griz 660 have to come to a complete dead stop to engage diff lock, or can you engage it while still rolling?
I read one magazine review that said it will engage below 5 mph, is this true?

There is a limiter that limits your speed to 5mph while the lock is engaging. If you try to engage the lock above 5mph, the limiter kicks in and the bike sputters and backfires till your speed drops below 5mph(been there done that).

Hi Folks,

I have 4.5 hours on a 660 and I am wondering if everyone is stopping before going into 4x4 from two-wheel drive ? I have done this and it does not seem to be a problem (I'm usually not going to fast when I do). I have also gone from 4x4 to two-wheel drive while rolling along with no obvious problems.

All info greatly appreciated!

PS This thing has way more power than I need! I rolled it over on me while climbing a small hill because I goosed it a little thinking I was bogging down. Oh well, I got over the first scratch thing pretty quick…

Thanks TCD. I didn't think of the 2x4/4x4 switch but it's just as important. Good to know it works on the roll, hope it is OK in the long run.

From the few responses I'm getting this doesn't seem to be much of an issue, which maybe is a good thing. Just watch all the cars rolling through stop signs downtown, it's because it is a pain to come to a complete dead stop every block. Same on an ATV. I think (hope) if that was the case I'd have heard about it by now????
