I rolled my Kodiak on my first day... twice. I've had a few minor spills since but nothing major. Most of my wrecks have been due to me out riding the stock tires.

O.k, My turn!!

I have been riding and racing motorcycles for 26 years, my children and wife both ride, my 4 year old rides a KTM 50 sx pro Jr that just whoops up on my 10 year olds XR 80.. Its Funny, ANYWAY, I ride a KTM 300 EXC, my Wife rides a DR 350.. Point being I love Bikes and have only recently got into quads, just as something to put put on.
Now to the accident, October last year, My boys were back in the woods playing and it came up time for dinner. Wife said to go get them to eat, so I hopped on her bike (mine was in the garage prepped for the race the following day) and proceded to go get the kids.
While in the woods A couple of neighbors came back and we were just doing some play laps. The track has one semi steep hill, about 150 feet long to go up, and one VERY steep hill to go down, Or vice versa depending which way your running.
Anyway, I was first and I proceeded up the not so steep hill, went through the woods and whenn coming back down , Jumped off the highwall that was the down hill section. PROBLEM being that a Tree was across the traill that I didnt see and when I landed, (about 30 feet down hill) My front tire hit the log and my Handlebars immediatly went to lock. I fell under the bike and slid down the hill like that at approx 30 miles an hour. ANyone who knows the DR 350 knows one thing, they are one VERY heavy bike!
The bike rammed my shoulder into a stump that was sticking out of the ground.. End result, Concussion, and my shoulder broke in 8 places. The impact actually knocked the ball of the end of my humurous bone, then broke that ball in 8 pieces. It fractured my rotater cup, and split my humerous bone all the way down to the elbow.
On the way to the Hospital my wifes yelling because I scratched her fender..
Anyway, I had steel rods hanging about 3 inches out of my arm that held my whole upper arm and shoulder together. I had the rods for 4 months, and they removed them with a drill and no local.. OUCH!
so One year later I still havent regained full use of my arm, its slightly disfigured because of the bone and I can no longer race, but still ride!

It's been along time since I had any serious crashes, I mean I've had my share of stupidity falls, but the last major crash I had was about bunch of years ago I was 15, and it was my first experience with any sort of atv, an ATC 90 to be exact. I was riding on some trails in northern California among the huge redwoods, and as the trail narrowed between trees I forgot that the two back wheels were just a little wider than that single front wheel. To shorten this story up; the old 90 came to an abrupt stop, however, I didn't as I did the superman dive over the bars and hit head (helmet) first into another waiting tree.

I cracked the helmet in two places, gave myself a concusion, and sprained my neck...Ouch!!!

My turn!! PART 1
I lucked out I wasn't hurt as bad as ktmexc, but,
Riding a banshe, Moving pretty good thru tight trails. I been on this trail at least 2-3 dozen or so times. Hill slopes down, nice jump on the bottom into a wide trail clearing. I flew down the hill hit the jump as I did Many/many times before, And As I Look ahead, Mid flight, Toward the area I should be landing I see 2 6" steel pipes about 4 ft high. Me and quad still about 2ft airborn, My front right tire hit post, Ripped it completly off continued onward as I scream At the top of my lungs, Missing my leg luckly, and hit my rear tire, which at this point,Quad did a slight stop motion. Then again I wouldn't know, My body did not stop. I hit Handlbars and pretty much anything left in front of me and did a endo landing in nice patch of rocks and sliding some good 20 some feet away. Did I mention Very quick stop! the people who maintained the trail decided they needed an area to slow people down by placing 2 steel pipes about 4 ft high, With Large rocks on the outside of the trail Placed so you go thru the middle with about 6 inches per side of the quad. Well I will say, IT SLOWED ME DOWN!! THANK YOU!! GREAT JOB!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Cracked ribs, Both forearms Broken. Many Many Nice skid marks, Cracked my helmet on .... something?? Quad did not survive at all as you can imagine.

3cross, I know what you mean, where I wrecked I have ridden there for only like 24 years! I feel sorry for your quad, was you able to repair it, or just get a new one? By the way, I had a v-max 2 years ago, been looking for another one!, Maybe when the Kodiak sells..!

Happy trails!

My story part 2

In the above mentioned, I could't fix the quad, I ended up parting and selling, The Front end was so bent outta shape, Rear end was bent the heck and back.

Before the Banshee,
I bought My first brand new quad, Wolverine,
At the time is was the fastest, most agile 4x4 available.
I felt I could do anything, drag, mud, sand, water, nothing could stop it!!
I Was the king! I ruled the trails, I could climb anything!!

OH BOY WAS I... WRONG!!!

Somewhat new riding area, out with a bunch of guys, A steep downhill, then dropped off real steep, and slowly leveled off. Great jump going down.
We noticed we never seen anybody go up. So that was the chore for the day.
Let the other quads go first, Warrior was spinning tire couldn't make it.

Me being King Shhhhh$$ had to try!
Hit the slope with authority! Leaned forward! Proper gear! Engine screaming!
Tires CHurning at the dirt!!! Hit the steep upgrade!
Relized at this point, Front tires have traction as well! It Grabbed and popped my front end up into the air. Slow motion... Slight scream, I knew at this point I was rollin!
Instincts kicked it! Not Brains! I jumped off the back, Tucked, Rolled, Got up and ran!! Then I heard a sicking sound behind me coming closer.

thump crunch
THUMP CRUNCH

THUMP CRUNCH
next thing I know Im layed out, Quad rolling down the hill in front of me, It stopped at the bottom of the hill still running.

I can honestly say, Plastics, racks, and new handbar. Bike was running fine.
Better than me.

Tore my calf muscle, dislocated my knee and hip, Cracked that helmet as well.
Talk about a EGO CHECK!

yes my vmax is for sale, I hate to sell it, but, I was one of the lucky 13000 people who was layed off in vegas. Yes Im working, but for less money.
Got bills to pay, Some of the playtoys gotta go. If your interested email me, This isn't the place to post info on that.

My part 2!

When I was 15, I had a 1985 Yamaha IT 200. Was very nice pleasant bike, on par with the KDX 200 at that time.
I loved riding wheelies, and still do to this day, there is a straight dirt road by my house that I can bring the front end up in 2 and could go through all 6 Gears before coming down again at about 65-70 mph (guessing).
Well One time I decided to this when a VERY cute little girl that looked about my age was sunbathing in her yard. Wel went up in second, hit 3, then 4 and 5th and suddenly im sliding down the gravel road on my back.. Looked like someone had sliced my back up with a knife.. I got up with what was left of my ego, got on my bike, and procedded to SLOWLY ride past the girl on the way home, who just happened to be laughing. Oh the horror. Maybe I'll Learn some time!

crash 1: Side-swiped power pole on xr250 doing about 40mph.....slid into tree. Broke my arm and threw out my back so i couldn't even get up. Crash 2: doing 50mph in odyssey, failed to see the 15ft wide canal in front of me. woke up in hospital with a broken nose, and 7 stitched across my fore-head. Crash 3: Borrowed rm125. Landed short on a 35ft double.... again, woke up in the hospital thinking "damnit..Not AGAIN!" dislocated shoulder and broken wrist..... and bashed in nuts(they still work, don't worry!)

Thats my list.

I had one just today!

I was over at my freinds house washing my truck.Well I decide his trailblazer needs to ride some wheelie's.Well I* was having a heck of a time even getting it up.Well When I finnaly do it lands on top of me.A trailblazer weighs about 450 pounds!I luckily I was not injured.I have some scraps but that is all.

The bike however did fare so well. When I threw it off me I kinds rolled it sideways.Well it landed on its front tire.Which bent the tie-rod and the spindle! This is madness!I have had my 250r from 15 feet high right on the 2 front wheels on the lip of the down ramp and not get hurt at all.(Except the handlebars wraped around the gas tank which meant I couldn't steer which meant I ran off the track into the woods and hit a tree.)

We go to the polaris dealer only to find they don't have a tie-rod in stock. So we go back try and straighten we got it straight. But the spindle is still bent.It is bent so bad the front tire rubs the toe-rod end!

So now I got to pay for this!First I wreck my other freinds truck and now this!

And he told me not to get it dirty because there selling it!
