Does anyone know where to attach the snowplow on a 660 Griz. I just put my plow together and look under my ATV and can't find the place to attach it. It is a Yamaha plow.

I finally got mine in, after 3-4 months of waiting. I do remember the 'tools needed' list mentioning that you need a hand held drill. I'll be installing mine tommorrow...depends on what games are on though.

If it is the Warn plow you get from Yamaha, then you have to bolt a mounting bracket to the quad. Should have come with the plow. It utilizes two of the bolts on each foot platform and u-bolts that go around the frame tubes (yes you do have to drill the skid plate. I just did mine last week.

The one that I received from the dealer is a Cycle Country plow. I mounted the bracket already and put together the plow but havent put the plow on because I want to lift it with a winch that I havent bought yet. Do you have to drill the skidplates for all of plows? I thought it just mounted using the cotter pins?

426hemi -

I don't know about the Cycle Country. Mine is by Warn, it's the one you get for $69 when you buy a Grizz right now. My bracket was in 3 pieces. 2 pieces bolted between the foot rests and frame tube on either side and then there was a cross member between the two. You then had to drill through the skid plate (4 holes) and u-bolt the cross member to the frame tubes above. The plow then attached with cotter pins in a space which is between the two side brackets and the cross member. On a side note, I got the cycle country winch mount for my Warn 2000 winch and it worked real nice. I haven't seen the Warn brand bracket, but I am real happy with the cycle country bracket. Even further side note, Warn has a new weather resistant rocker switch for the 2000lb winch and that is real sweet too. Mounts to the handle bars or rack. Mines on the handle bars so I can keep both hands on the grips and control the winch. The only place I have seen it is Cabela's for $44.99.

HoarsNest:

I think I have the same one as you. One box had the mount, which bolted to the footpeg assembly. I have mounted that already. Another box had the pushtube assembly, which I put together then mounted onto the plow (springs and turnbucles). Where do the U bolts come into play? I thought I was just about done..Silly me. I was under the impression that I just mount the pushtube assembly (with plow attached) under the quad to the bracket mounted on the footpeg assembly. I also recieved the manual lift assembly but didnt even open that box because I wanted to use a winch. How hard was the winch to install? I was looking at the 2500 winch..thought the remote thing might come in handy? Also how does the winch connect to the plow?

426hemi,

How many open holes are left on the brackets that you bolted to the foot rests? If you just have one for the hitch pin to go in, then you are probably done. If you have three then you might have the same one as me and there should be a cross member in there. It bolts to the two brackets you already have installed with a spacer between each of the existing brackets and the cross member. The "ear" on the plow tube assembly then slides in to that space. When you slide in the hitch pin, it will first go through the bracket you have installed, then the plow, then through a hole in the cross member. If you really do have a cycle country mount, it could be completely different.
Mounting the winch was really easy. With the cycle country mount, there are 6 bolts that hold the mount to the Grizz all through existing holes. Then the winch just has 4 bolts right to the cycle country mount. Cycle country already has a roller fairlead as part of their system so basically 10 bolts and you are done. I looked at the 2500lb too, but the only difference between the 2000 and the 2500 is the size of the power cables, the solenoid and you get the remote switch. The winches themselves are identical. You can upgrade a 2000 to 2500 for about $150, comes all in a kit from Warn. I figured I'd save the money up front and if I ever discover I need more power I could get the upgrade kit. Also, I really wanted that rocker switch and you can only use it on the 2000 because the power cables fron it are not big enough for use with the 2500.

Also, for attaching winch to plow - cable comes out of fairlead, down to ****** block on plow tube assembly (just behind blade) and then back up to a bracket on front bumper. My Kit from Yamaha/Warn had all the necessary parts.
