I'm buying a Durablue axle and would like to know the steps to install it? Any tips or tricks? Will I have to have any special tools or any other parts? Any info will be appreciated. It's the 2+2 eliminator axle.

first go to the durablue page and download the install directions: I received no instructions with mine and they start out with note the order of all the parts on the shipped axle, this will help you do it right the first time. its no big deal your old axle should pop out use a large socket over the threads to tap it out. make sure you use loctite on the set screw (the small hex screw which locks the threads down). one other thing this axle is really a +3 or +5 (+2 or +4 on the banshee its the same axle) I went with the wider setting found my bike got tippy in the tight turns, dropped to the +3 setting and the geometry of my quad is excellent, unless of course you have new extended a-arms. this is an easy install should not take much longer than 30-60min

Don't forget to send in your warranty card Seriously though I have one and I haven't had any problems. Yet.....

the 2 things you really need are a BIG up to 2.5 in. adjustable wrench (i had to use my pipe wrench becuase i didn't have a big enough cresent) if you use a pipe wrench be careful not to chew up the new axle nut. and use loc-tite on both the axle nut and set screw! oh yeah and
don't overtighten the axle nut....

Word of caution: if you're putting a Durablown axle on, don't jump it or race it.
