Wolverine exhaust, jetting, or??
#1
I bought a used 95 Wolverine. The original exhaust had 4 large rust holes in the bottom. So, I put on an FMF Megamax II and it came with a larger jet than stock. The jet caused it to run real rich down low. After messing with it about 10 times, I'm down to the pipe with 6 plates and the power core insert, the stock jet, and K&N filter. It runs great except when you start to rev it high at full throttle. It will cut out unless you let off the throttle a little. It pulls great and has alot of power up to that point. This is the best I have been able to get it so far. Any ideas on what this top end sputter would be caused from? I really don't want to mess with the exhaust plates because it is almost too loud for me now. Should I try another jet slightly larger than stock? How about putting holes in the air box? Or do I maybe have a problem with the carb. itself? It did do this with the stock pipe and jet but I thought it may be because of the rust holes in the stock pipe. It is better now than with the stock setup. I run with a Grizzly 600, a Banshee, and a Warrior. I want to be able to try to keep up with them.
