I goina be trading my friend my dunebuggy for his 89 Banshee. Its all stock except for tires. I wondering what cheap upgrades can i do and that will make a difference or will help protect something.

 

just my 2 cent, but the first thing i would get is a PRO-DESIGN kn filter
system its a new flange and filter, next open the air-box=lid off or hole and take the snorkle off. then if money allows get some pipes and jet kit. that will be night and day.
the next step is to port and polish, and mill the head.

What kind of pipes would you recommend for bottom to mid range or a all around pipe?

 

the first thing you must do is get a pro-design air filter. i would stick with the foam filter it doesnt let ANY dirt in. i installed one on my banshee 3 years ago when it was brand new and it still has compression like new. it is all due to the filter, that is the most important thing to have on a banshee. take the snorkel off and drill some holes around the sides of the airbox cover. as for pipes i would recommend fmf, they are very good pipes and they dont cost too much.those paul turners look cool too.

 

I AGREE with the fmf pipes i had them and for the $ you can't go wrong. i had the gold series i think woods ones are for more low end.

1- Get the Pro-flo set-up = engine longetively + Peace of mind...costs around $90
2- remove the snorkle from the front of the air box and jet up = almost 5 hp and the cost is the price of main jets
3- add a timing key = about 2 hp and costs about $20
4- sprockets are always a cheap way to add performance for your riding conditions

I have a Pro Design filter and the Pro Design plate laying around my house. I was looking to get rid of it, It's only been used a few times. The kit brand new sells for around 90.00 dollars, but let me know if your interested and I'll sell it cheap. It's definetely worth it since the stock set up is horrible.
