banshee price question

"Yamaha 1994 banshee. runs great, clean, $3,900"
Does this sound like a good deal? Is he asking for too much/not enough money? I would like to hear what you guys think about the banshee. I think i've found a buyer for the zilla. The 500 was a good bike, but it drank gas like there was no tomorrow and had a little too much power for me.
I'm trying to pick between a mint condition lt250r quadracer and the banshee. Which one would you choose and why?
thanks for your time.

A '94 Banshee for 3900$? Prices must be steeper in California, because looking through the local buy/sell/trade magazine, I'm seeing at least 2 '99s that are stock, low hours, and in "excellent shape" for the same price. '98s are 400-500$ cheaper.
I dunno, it sounds a little high to me, but I'd recommend checking it out and seeing if it's in good condition, etc. Like I said, maybe things just cost more out there...
And personally, I'd go with the Banshee over the Lt250r, but that's just my own preference, which has pretty much no basis other than by brand, appearance, and engine size.
By the way, to any other Banshee owners, how do you guys like them for trails that are less than perfect? I want something with a good deal of power, and lightweight, but with a relatively large amount of ground clearance. I'm really looking into a used Warrior or used Banshee (large difference, I know, but I just don't want a 400EX, and nobody has Raptors for sale that I can afford). The Warrior has reverse, and I like that, but man... I really want the power of a Banshee!
Any advice?

Hey Campy prices are definately steeper here in CA. It's real hard to find decent bikes for resonable prices. People here think when they sell their bike that all of the taxs+fees=the price that that they draw their selling javascript:underlined(document.replyform.message); document.replyform.message.focus();price for. They don't understand that all used bike prices are calculated from the MSRP of the bike not the total price paid.

I am going through the same thing right now... I have recently gotten back into dirt bikes after a few years break. I find that my banshee spends more time up on a stand in the garage now.... It's a 1996, bought as a left over brand new in 97.
I totally re did the bike. Lonestar, works, pipes...on and on. Well over $4500 plus the price of the quad brand new. So It's upwards near 10+ thousand dollars. Can I get that much? Never. I asked about trading it in on another dirt bike...they wanted to give me $2800. What a joke I thought to myself. But it looks like I will not be getting much for an immaculate machine(it needs nothing but a full tank of gas ). So for now, there it sits.... I still ride it, but nowhere near as much as I used to.
If someone would give me 4500, I would take it. It's well worth it, but try to convince someone else of that. This bike has many more years of trouble free use left.
To answer your question....In my eyes, that's not a bad price. But as mentioned, in my area That same year would go for just over 2000

I'll be selling my 97 with Toomey Pipes, Boost bottle, Mikuni carbs, nerf bars and paddles, for $4250. I don't imagine I'm going to have a hard time selling it if I list it, I have several buddies that want me to hold on to it untill they can get the money. Banshees get a high price out here because they are known as great dune racing quads, back east and up north, the utility quads are alot more popular.
