I want to upgrade my factory exhaust on my Raptor and was wondering what you all thought was the best I mostly do mx style track riding with some recreational riding. Loudness does play a factor I was considering the new quite silencer and bomb header from fmf. Any comments would be appreciated.

I like Yoshimura. On your tranny: A 2001 is a 2001 is a 2001! Pray your trans doesn't grenade! I sold my 2001 and got a 2002 before the inevitable happened to ME. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones; I didn't want to take that chance.

I bought a FMF powercore IV slip-on. I like the performance but do not like the way it attaches to the head-pipe. It literally "slips-on" with no positive clamp or anything (unlike the stock set-up). This, I'm guessing, makes it prone to wear due to vibration at this junction and it seems this play would translate to the exhaust manifold studs as well. I'm not impressed at all !

If you're looking for something quiet, the quietest ones seem to be the disc type systems. Like Supertrapp and White Bros.

No way is the white brothers quiter than FMF poercore IV....I have FMF and is very good pipe...gives u lots of low end and mid range....the quality is good too...as far as it going on, as long as u get the header with the pipe and not just the slip on...the header makes better fit, a friend of mine has white brothers e series I think the FMF makes more power....my 2 cents.

I have an FMF Powercore IV SA slip-on and I am very satisfied. The noise is not too bad (its quieter than the 400EX w/ WB E-Series that I ride with) and it made a big improvement on power. I did install it along with the Pro Design air filter flange kit with a foam filter and Dynojet kit along with airbox mods. FISHER1648, you mention that yours did not come with a clamp. Mine came with a nice clamp similar to the stock setup which makes me think that you may not have received all of the parts.
