I'm looking for that "ideal" trade-off - yeah right !? My problem is that I make 5-6 trips to the dunes (sea level) in between the normal local rides at 4500' elevation. I don't want to whine but I really do not want to have to re-jet in between each elevation - that essentially means re-jetting every 2-3 weeks for 6 months or so.

I currently have the stock jets,an FMF slip-on, and cut the baffle out of the snorkel and can go in-between altitudes with no problems. I'd like to addd the Pro-Flow foam filter set-up (I do not like the stock filter attachment method).

Do you guys think I'll be lean at sea level after the air filter mod ?

Thanks for the help, Eric

Yeah I think you will be very lean at sea level with the stock jets and mods let alone the filter. it may run good but youll be down on power and run a little hot

just my .02

Yo arizona, I relate directly to this, my home base is at 5500' most of my favorite trails are up at 7500+', and jetting gets to be a pain just for a trip off the mountain, but its what I have to do. here is a possible solution: I recommend airbox modifications either a series of holes or cut out the back ~4" of airbox lid and remove snorkle jet for your altitude, but when you go down to sea level tape up the holes in your airbox (richen the mix as it were). this wont get you the best sea level performance but its a whole lot easier than rejetting, you could also add a k&n filter at altitude and go back to foam (and tape) when at sea level, just some possible ideas from a fellow high altitude chum

VRAPTOR,

Thanks for the idea - sounds pretty resonable to me.

PS - If youve never been to the Imperial Sand Dunes (Glamis) you should make the trip. It's awsome riding and the Raptor is a good duner.

I would love to do some duning, you would think there would be good spots out here, but they really dont like us riding at the white sands missle range which has some of the nicesest sugar sand ever. one of these days I've got to get to glamis or some of the spots up in utah, looks like the 26th should be interesting out there but its just too far at least this month

Fisher, You need to be at 155-160 w/ a pro flo no lid clip in number four spot (stock slot will work also) and slip on at 5000ft. Stock pilots will work and three turns out on the air screws. PERFECT!! No flat spots anywhere.. I will double check w/ my brother...
