Some factory mapping available (but not yet stock) is rumored to producve 61 hp. from these engines. This was told to me from a dealer who is doing some development work for C'dale. Is there any other stock engine that can do that?

<< Most of the "praise" I hear or see somes from magazines (they love EVERYTHING, especially if it has red plastic) and C-dale owners or want-to-be owners. No one is really using them because they are expensive, partly to pay for Jo-Jo's private jet >>

Thats funny. I thought mine was "expensive" ($400 more than the Raptor) because of the ITP aluminum wheels, hydraulic clutch, holeshots all around, Ohlins shocks, and the amount of money it costs to produce a high tech fuel injected 4-stroke that will out run every stock machine out there (except for... the CANNONDALE Blaze and Moto 440). I guess I was wrong huh? I'm glad you told me about the private jet, 95 Warrior! I must have had it all backwards this whole time! Man do I feel dumb now. (I hope you can sense my sarcasm)

You guys can get an argument started over anything.. My gosh.

Since I am 100% un-biased on this subject, Here's my honest opinion. Harsh, but true.

All of you people that doubt Cannondale, I hope you're hungry, because you'll be eating every bad word you say about them VERY soon. I have ridden YoDaddy's Dale quite often, and flat out, that thing HAULS @$$! It pulls from the clutch release all the way to the tip top of 5th gear. I have never EVER rode a quad that you can pull the front wheels off the ground in 4th gear without jerking on the bars, until I rode his. I'm positive I could pull into a wheelie in 5th gear with a slight tug on the bars.

KingRaptor, how can you compare your 686 Raptor to a Moto? Your 686 is geared for duning and uphills, and the Moto is setup for a strict diet of motocross tracks!

The only "con" i can find on the Cannibal is that it's not wide enough to suit my tastes, but I also think that a set of 18" turf tamers would take car of the handling problem.

Mark my words, Cannondale WILL go all the way, I can guarantee you that. Don't crap in your pants when you see a Moto win the GNC Nationals. It's coming.

Oh, find a quad that looks better than this Cannondale and you'll be doing good

Actually no its not to bash the C-dale. I'm just trying to see if they are all that they are hyped up to be or not. What do you think of yours honestly. If you want to start a pissing contest fine be a little b*t$h, but All I am asking is if all the hype is really worth it. Im not saying that your C-Dale sucks and my Raptor rules. I am far from worried that C-dale is going to hurt Yamaha. No one around me wants to spend the $$$ on one. So its tought to compare all the way around. Trail, Dunes, MX ........ if you can give me a honest comparison so be it. Just dont start to cry because someone is looking to hear a little more than what the mags say. If you want to cry go to the C-dale forum.

P.S. If you want to go by the mags The Raptor is at the top.

rraptor13, does that 13 signify that you're 13 years old? How much did your Raptor cost ya? Somewhere around $6,500, which is CHEAP? How much does a Cannibal cost? YoDaddy got his around $6,800. What would you have to buy to make your Raptor have all the "aftermarket" nic nacs the Dale comes stock with? FMF pipe(we'll just say $250), Ohlins shocks(LOL, try around $800), ITP aluminum wheels($200ish), Magura hydraulic clutch($219), ITP Holeshots($250ish)...

Well, I dont wanna sound like a total butthole, so I'll let you do the math.

i love to listen to you raptor guys bash the cdale. the cdales low end is the best in the industry. it kills a raptor off the line, in fact its low end is so good it will kill almost any raptor off the line. the cdale is not underpowered for the dunes because it has 42 hp. at a yamaha/honda/cannondale dealer a stock cannibal beat a raptor with $3000 in mods, needless to say i bought one. it handles like a dream and will smoke raptors in a drag. i love to listen to you guys compensate and say how bad the low end is. i am going to go tear some raptors some new ***** this weekend for the first time. the raptor is tippy and has worse handling. end of story, i almost bought a raptor but the cdales came in and i was hooked.

the moto is not even out yet you dumb mother ******. i didn't realize you were that scared of cdale. they have a 454 kit that kills 725 cc raptors. stop making up stuff about the cdale, and another thing NEVER SAY ANYTHING THE MAGAZINES SAY EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! THEY JUST LIKE THE RAPTOR BECAUSE MR.BRIBE. the magazines love ALL of the new suzukis, i know they are going to say the z400 is the best even if the frame is cardboard and it goes 15 mph.

<< They appear to be great track bikes, but are under powered in the dunes. I have raced four including one today at the dunes which was the quickest one I have seen yet (it is the $12,000 version) and beat him with my Raptor by about 10+ bike lengths up OLDS hill at Glamis. All the other ones I saw were beat up the hill by Raptors with pipes.

Like I said, they appear to be a nice handling track-race bike, but they do not have the power in the sand.
>>

a stock cannibal will kill a piped raptor so bad, so just shut up. the moto 440 is not out yet so we know you are making it up. according to sandgod his fairly modded 660r got beat pretty bad by a stock fx400 and the raptor had a twelve tooth and his brother on the other raptor had a 13 tooth. the cdale is a race bike while the raptor is more of a weekend bike.

<< I have only seen one on the trails. A guy we see often had a new demo that his dealer gave him. He didn't like it all compared to his EX400. IT rode rougher, was harder to trail ride with because it was more race type setup, didn't like going slow. IT really liked when you got on it hard but for normal trail riding it wasn't that much fun for him.

Had the ride the clutch alot because it didn't seem to have alot of bottome end. HE said it did go like hell when he would open it up but you can't always be doing that. One other thing is the machine made lots of engine noise. HE said it was the way Canondale cuts their gears that made it motor loud. I guess they cut the gears different than the other companies do.

The funny thing is he really wanted one til he rode it. Now he is keeping the EX400.
>>

NO BOTTOM END!!!!??? THAT IS WHAT CDALES ARE ALL ABOUT!!! seriously, none of you guys have obviously ever seen one of these machines.

Shot down on your own turf. Kind of a foreshadowing there huh? As far as people tearing them down to put better parts on it, lol Kory Ellis has a pipe, a-arms, axle, swing arms tires, nerfs and all of the other regular mx mods. How many pro class quads do you see out there that don't have those parts and more on them. Ellis's dale also has a stock engine. As far as me crying, thats just the wind blowin in my eyes since the dale goes so fast, but you wouldn't know anything about that would you?
Later

P.S. Keep tryin, I'm listenin.

keep in mind Kory's cannondale is a cannibal NOT a moto440. that is why it has all of the mods. the engine is stock except for a bill's pipe i believe.
