She(97 warrior) idles great, but as soon as hit the throttle she sputters and shuts off.I checked fuel system(seems ok). Before I rip carb off is there some sort of rev limiter that I can check? Can the parking brake have something to do with this?Is there a fuel filter somwhere?Any advice would be appreciated....THANKS

Yes the parking brake can most certainly cause this. Locate the two plug in wires on the clutch lever perch and simply unplug them from the perch. This disables the limiter. Give it a quick try, it'll take about 30 seconds.

well,I removed the two forward plugs on the clutch perch. It did not change a thing, but I did break the lower connection(just my luck).
Should that disable the rev limiter? Can I leave them disconnected? Is there a fuel filter somewhere? Thanks for help!!!

I don't think your problem is electrical. If it was the parking brake or the reverse switch ground wire the quad would sputter when given throttle but not stall. I would start with pulling the carb off and clean it. You might have stuff in the float bowl clogging jets or the float is not at the correct height. If you think it may be your fuel flow pull the fuel line off the carb and stick it in a jug or can and turn the petcock on to see if the flow is good.

Maybe clogged jets or a fouled plug? did you change it?

After having tried the parking brake limiter and sucessfully disconnecting it, I'd go right to the fuel bowl. Pull your carb off and remove the bowl, if there's sand or other gunk in there it'll definitely cause major trouble.

Yes there is a fuel filter. It is on you fuel pekock. Drain all the gas out of your tank, undo the 2 screws on the underside of the fuel pekock, remove and clean the filter. I wouls suggest checking your float...
