Warrior Exhaust Question
#1
I have a 1999 Yamaha Warrior with a White Brothers E-Series, K&N air filter, 4 one inch holes in airbox lid. I was wondering what size main jet is everyone else running with this kind of setup? I have 12 discs on it and I ride just little above sea level.

Since you have holes in the airbox lid already why don't you just run without the lid. It's much better. I hope you have an Outerwears filter cover on that K&N filter. Anyway, I'm running 24 disks on my E-Series along with the spark arrestor. You can see from my signature what jets I'm using and I'm running at around 75 ft. above sea level

All I know is after riding the quad, whether it's a short run or a good day of riding, when I check my spark plug it is a nice tan color. The machine does not hesitate or bog out at any rev. No sputters and beautiful idle. When I originally changed everything on the quad I went with a 150 main. Then I went larger and then I went smaller on the jet. The reason I did that was because I was listening to everyone on the forum. That is understandable but after riding the quad and figuring out what the problem was, the smaller jet is where I ended up. Every engine is different. The reason we are all here is to give some personal experience of ours to others to help them make an educated guess. I appreciate all of those that helped me in my quest for the perfect jet. Now the quad runs like a dream. Just ran 61 mph on the GPS a couple of days ago. I can't complain.

61 mph. That is awsome. My warrior hits 45. It is geard VERY LOW and it could pull a house down. It is the woods machine. 10t up front 45t in the back WB PM pipe set for torque and stuff like that.

Browsing thru some older posts to do a bit of research on posted warrior mods..came across this post referring to a 150 main with WB 24 disc e-series.
A plug color check after 'riding around' is useless. There are about 5 circuits in your carb and you aren't using the main 'riding around'.
WOT is where the main jet needs to be checked. Plug chop is the only way to do it.
I'm not saying your setup is wrong...but if you are basing a main jet choice on a plug check after 'riding around', you're asking for big trouble.
imo...objects in mirror....not expressed or implied... etc.
