Raptor Tranny Blown
#1
A friend of mine blew his tranny yesterday and he is out of warranty and didn't get the extended. I could swear I read on here that someone was in the same situation and somehow did something to get it fixed at no charge. If anyone knows anything about this let me know.

Your best bet is to find a dealer that is very good. You may have to go a long way to find one. From what I have heard some dealers can get it taken care of and some cant you will have call around and explain your situation. I dont think Yamaha has officially addressed the problem but you can give them a call also. Make ALOT OF NOISE and call more than once and make sure you talk to the same person each time. Move up the supervisor ladder as much as possible, if you get someone on the phone in Japanesse then you have gone to far. This might sound like a big hassle but people have called before you and will call after you. Yours might be the straw that broke the camels back and cause a recall to fix the problem. Just my thirty-five cents worth.

Make your dealer step up. Insist they call or you call 1-800-962-7926. Be POLITE!!!!!! State your case.... Be POLITE!!! Express concern and disappointment......Be POLITE!!! Ask them that you want to take it to a dealer and have them look at it. If you call and ask YOU WILL GET HELP ON THE PARTS. You will have to pull the motor and eat the 3.5 hrs in labor. BE POLITE!!!!!!!! Tell your dealer you have inquired to USA Yamaha........... Did I say, BE POLITE!!!!!
