I and two of my cousins own warriors and all three don't roll easy when pushed in neutral. The also all stumble when you punch the throttle, most noticeably when idling. I leaned my warrior out slightly and it seemed to help. If I lean it out too far, can it hurt the engine - what will it do to it? I also noticed there was a plunger inside the carb that stuck while I was cleaning it - could this be the stumbling problem? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

That plunger thing you are talking about is the accelator pump and that could be the problem with the stumbling try it and see. How is your Warrior jetted and what mods does it have and at what altitude do you ride then i might be able to help with jetting. As for the rolling problem that could be lots of things like the rear axle bearings or the clutch or maybe the chain is just really rusted. As for leaning out your Warrior yes it could hurt the motor by starving it of fuel and causing it to run hotter.

It has the stock motor and exaust, no carb modifications at all and the carb is at all the stock settings (for the right altitude). I'll try to replace the spring in the plunger and see if it helps.

Thanks

Definatly replace the spring, just use the spring out of a click type ink pen,it is the exact same size, and is much stronger. I had the same problem with the pump rod on my Wolverine, after that,it snapped up every time, and never gave me any more trouble. As far as not rolling good in neutral, several causes come to mind. One,chain too tight, clutch out of adjustment causing a little drag, or bad axle bearings in the carrier. Also, with the wonderful chain adjustment system on the Yamahas,it is pretty easy to get the sides uneven, causing a bind on the axle. I hope this is some help.

check your parking brake adjustment, i found that over time the linkage starts to bind.
