Just adjusted the valves on my raptor the exhausts were ok, but the intakes were tight. Is this normal? Also I didn't notice any performance difference afterwards, it runs good just like it always has. This was it's first valve adj. I probably have run 12 tanks of gas through it I know I waited to long , think I hurt it? It still runs great. Thanks

Same here. Intakes just a little tight exaust were fine. This was my first valve adjustment I did them at 20hrs & also saw no gain. I change my oil & filter every 10hrs, & will adjust the valves every 20. I don't think this is too long but If they start making noise I won't wait I'll do it then.

What are the valve clearances for the Raptor? My friend wants me to adjust his valves for him. Thanks!

I've always had the same problem with Honda's CBR F2's, F3's, and 900RR's. The reason is Japs use hardened valves for the exhaust (because of the heat they endure) but not for the intakes on a lot of models. It sounds as if the Raptor has the same thing going on. The only real fix I've found was to go with one piece stainless intake valves, and we tried everything, including valve springs. (which only made the problem worse) And no you didn't hurt anything.

The factory service manual says the clearances are: Intake-0.10~0,15mm (0.0039~0.0059in) Exhaust-0.15~0.20mm (0.0059~0.0079in)

I adjusted my valves for the first time recently. Hadn't done it in 8 months which was when i got it. Talk about a massive difference.
