I was wondering what a stock zilla ran in an 1/8 mile drag. My 02 raptor(stock)will run 9.1 (faster than a stock mustang).

 

I havent seen a quadzilla run in the 1/8 but if i were to guess I would say Mid 8 seconds any one else know?

 

I ran mine way bake in 88-89 and it went 8.35 with only a silencer for power mods, but I did have slicks, wheely bar and lowered suspension. I think one of my buddies went best of like high 7.7 range. He had pipe, jetted, and air box mods. This was all on the tracks old timing system that was supposedly 2 tenths faster so this would make the times 8.55 and 7.9s if its true. I hope to get the Raptor and zilla back up there this year a lot !!

 

What track are you running on? The one in New Hampshire?

No, New England Dragway wont let you run ATVs. One of the tracks here in Maine will, Winterport Dragway.

Cool.......I knew they run sleds......Anywho, the guy I bought my 87 Zilla from gave me a timeslip that shows 96 mph at the 1/8 mile ice drags, if I can find it I'll get the time, too.......Back then it had a FMF pipe, Ram valve, bored .060, head shaved .010, and that's it........let's just say its been restored and overly built now[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

What part of Maine do you ride?? It would be cool to see that Zilla at the track. Did you get it here in maine?

 

I mostly ride the old logging roads up here around Lincoln, and we gotta good sized pit to play in across the interstate.......I'd like to take the Zilla down to Winterport this summer and wax my friend's DS's and Raptors[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]........One of my friends was gonna buy the 500 from a guy he works with but his ex-girlfriend wanted him to have the biggest and best at the time (when the Raptor first come out), so he didn't get it. Last summer I sold my old Trailblazer to my cousin and was going to buy a nice 250R that was bone stock for $2K, but my friend reminded me about the Zilla so I thought I should have that instead. So we went out to the "big city" of Lee. I paid $1500 and brought it home, rode it a total of an hour (if that), when the grab bar fell off, exhaust fell off, rear tires ripped right open (dry rot), carb leaked, petcock leaked, rear fenders and seat wanted to fall off........Anyways, I said to hell with it and stripped it down, replaced all suspension and wheel bearings, brakes, shocks, tires, rims, handlebars, grab bar, bumper, throttle, all the cables, and rebuilt the motor (lucky for me, all the bearings and seals where just replaced-I just bored it and slapped in a new piston)..............I see in an "Uncle Henry's" there was an '87 LT500R that was 90% restored, just needed wiring, out in Manchester, NH, for $1500, but I don't know if its been sold yet or not. I'd like to go get that one, too[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img].........Latah........

 

lol, there is no such thing as a 90% restored zilla. I learned that the hard way. You will have 20 grand in it before you have it all restored. I got rid of mine, it is was just too much of a money pit. Definitely put new sleeves in around the crank bearings. That is huge. There are about 100 other things you will have to do over the years. Definitely change the air box too. The air filter loves to just fall off.
