I rode both October Mt. and Pittsfield last year. They were both very good and not very crowded. I found that October Mt. had more technical riding and much rockier.
Pittsfield was awsome. All the trails were marked and had one way directional markers and ratings. They were all in good shape. A good variety of trails. Some rocky, some mud and a lot of wide open. Try to get in with the Western Ma ATV Association. They do a few guided trail rides a year and anyone can go. They hope that they can get people to join. ONly $25 a year. When its guided its even better. Hope that helps.
