The banshee im probably buying has T5's, but they arent chrome. The guy was telling me I should get them "straight plated". He said its chrome plating without polishing the metal. Has anyone had pipes chromed or "straight plated" before? How much does it cost, and can I chrome the silencers too?

Yes, you can plate them and leave them with the duller, "Nickle" finish or have them polished to a bright chrome.

Personally, if I were to pay the $$$ to plate them, have the plating polished to a "chrome" finish.

The cheapest place in town to chrome them is Papago Plating. Ask for Cliff or Roger. They are located at 2312 East Washington in Phoenix. Their phone number is: (602)273-1408.

Their quality is not the best, but their prices are by far the best! They have very quick turn-arounds also!

As far as the silencers are concerned, yes they can chrome them at Papago. However, since they are aluminum, the chroming will not hold up very well.

I would just pay to have Papago polish the silencers and tubes with their buffers. Then, it only takes a small coat of automotive polish every once in a while to keep them looking great! Additionally, polishing the silencers will cost a fraction of the chroming costs since they are aluminum.

Good luck!

I thought you couldn't get the pipes chromed after they had been used because of the oil in them contaminating the chrome process. Can anyone confirm this?
