My brakes on my raptor squeak terrible. While I'm riding they squeak and when I use them they squeak worse. I've tried to wash them and keep them clean but it doesn't stop. Please help.

Mine squeeeeeek toooo.... I hate it. it is probably the material the stock pads are made from, or I could be wrong, but that is my guess. Anyone know the actual reason????

My front brakes aren't to bad, 2 or 3 minutes of riding and they are good. But the back brake is like nails down a chock board, they take about 15 minutes to stop squealing. I just thought it was dirt, but maybe there is more to this?

I bought my raptor about a month ago. My breaks also squeak. The dealer said that it was part of the break-in and that once everything got seated properly and used a little, it would be fine. I'm still waiting for that to happen. I had my first service yesterday and took it out riding, breaks squeak a little, but with my new white bros. pipe on, I hardly hear anything anymore. If the squeak bothers you that much, put a loud pipe on. You'll never hear the squeak again...or anything else for that matter!!!

I have the White Bros. E-series with FMF Power bomb header. Can still hear the squeals. Maybe I should go to 12 discs.

It is expensive but the EBC brake rotors will solve your dilemma. There is something about the soft metal in the factory rotor coupled with the factory brake pads. The EBC Severe Duty brake pads don't squeak near as much but they are harder on the factory rotors.

I run 100% solid brass brakes on the rear. They squeak every once in a while but for the most part they don't. They are $30 and last 4-8 times longer than the EBC Severe Duty pads. I've learned to ride with my right foot away from the brake altogether. You would be surprised how much you are wearing your rear brake pads down if you ride with your foot over the brake. You don't realize it but you end up putting the brake on when you hit bumps, etc.

I've had my '02 raptor since October and my brakes still squeak, so I don't think it's a break in thing. If it bothers me too much I just spray some WD40 on it and it cures it for a ride or two.
