I was just wondering if there is anyway to get a replacement title for a quad. I heard somewere that you can get one if you need to register the quad, and you have to give them the serial number on the bike(im not sure exacly what to do ). Im just wondering if anyone else has tried to do this before?

I'm in the same boat you are. I bought my blaster off a guy, and he was waiting for the title from the kid he bought it from. So I don't have my title and now in PA you have to have them registered. Nobody around here knows what I can do either. Anybody on here from PA know?

call an authorized dealer or notary public and explain your situation. I believe you have to send to harrisburg for a duplicate

Just hope that the quad isn't stolen or has a lien against it somewhere.

Buying an ATV or motorcycle without a title is asking for trouble. It amazes me why people pay such a high price for these things and hardly ever ask for proof of ownership. You wouldn't buy a used car for 5000.00 and not ask for a title.

It would be a bummer for you spend thousands of dollars for a machine that ends up being repossessed by a bank OR worse picked up by your Sheriff's Department.

Go to your local DMV and tell them you want to register the bike. They will give you some forms to fill out. They told me I had to make an appointment with the local Highway Patrol and take the bike to them. They check the ID numbers etc and run them against their files to see if its stolen or whatever. I knew my LT80 wasn't stolen as I had gotten it from my sister. The tags were expired for to long and this was the course of action needed to register the bike. I woul assume it would be close to the same for a bike with no title. Good Luck

I do have the original bill of sales for my blaster. It has the original owners adress and everything,I just can't get ahold of him in anyway, so I was trying to get a new title or something so I can get it registered.

I don't know how PA is, but here in Ohio anything sold prior to June 1 1999 will NOT have a title.

Anything after that date IS titled.

In ohio if you have a pre june 99 quad, you have to take proof of ownership, and a VIN verification to the DMV and they can make you a title.. I did this for my 98 Shee so I could get an off road registration sticker.
