I have a '98 Wolverine. I bought it new. I had to replace both front wheel bearings. They went bad in about 9 months. So watch yours. I did replace the air filter with a K&N and a Pro-Flo kit from Pro Design. I like my Wolverine. I just wish I could Switch from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive.

I bought my 99 Wolverine used in Sept. of 2000. I had couple problems that all hit me at once. I had to replace the starter and the gear 2 inside the engine that turns the engine. haha! not much of a mechanic, just know that it was called the gear 2. Anyways, other than those 2 pieces which were very pricy, I had to replace one of the universal joints $28 and bearing up front. In all it cost me, with labor something like 8 or 900 big ones. Excellent machine but costly on parts. I changed the oil this passed summer and last June was the only time I took it out in the summer and went for one ride this winter to a friends camp. I love the machine and have nothing bad to say about it accept when parts go, hope you've got the bucks to fix it.. Its currently for sale because I'm buying, having a new house built.

I owned a 99 or 2000 model...can't remember which???? It was pretty fun but after I rode for about half an hour to 45 minutes it would run like crap. Engine would not die but run like it wasn't getting fuel. Would go about 5 miles per hour......then after limping along for 10 or 15 minutes would start to run fine again. I had this happen the last 3 or 4 times I rode it.....ended up selling it because the dealership couldn't find the problem. The warranty had just expired when it started acting up.....sold to someone else and haven't heard if they had problems with it or not.

good luck

HAve a 2001 wolv. First things first stock tires suck. Head lights prone to problems if you go swimming with it. love the quad though.

I have a 99 wolverine, bought it brand new, I bent the axle in the first three months, no fault of the bike though. Also I have put in a new battery, old one was killed due to my plow lift. Finally I have put brakes all the way around. I do not have one bad thing to say, about the wolverine any things I have done to it are routine or my stuipid fault. I thnik they fixed the bearing problem in 99 with a sealed bearing.

99 wolverine 25" bearclaws, fmf megamaxII pipe, K&N air filter and jet kit. bored .020 over white bros piston, yamaha shockwears
