Finally getting the raptor on a dyno tomorrow. I am renting it by the hour, so I can play around with the jetting, airbox, pipe, etc. I was wondering what kind of tires everybody that has run on the dyno used? I've got Razr's on it now, but also have the stock rims and tires sitting in the garage. I know that some people run street tires, but I doubt that they will have a set for me to use at the shop I am heading to. Any other info would be appreciated!

bring bigger jets with you, and bring your stock needles ( # 4 clip on both )
PUT LOTS OF AIR IN THE TIRES

Hello Harry,
What is new and exciting at Trinity? Let the people know...
I have been using the CV manifold for 8 years and I will never give that up. Changed over to the 35 airstryker a year ago. Is that what Trinity is using at the moment? Using it with Vito's 404 at this time. The 404 blows away anything else I have had over the years. A Banshee with perfect throttle response and dyno charts you can believe, what fun!!!
Ride on...ss

Take your front plastic off before you get there, bring your own tools, be familiar with the removal & replacement of all parts your going to be testing. you don't want to pay for the dyno time while your trying to figure out how to get something off or trying to borrow tools from the shop.

If your going to do any airbox mods make sure to keep the seat on while doing the pulls. Some people claim big dyno gains from running without the lid but when I asked them they said they were doing pulls without the seat on.
When I did my dyno runs without the lid & the seat on the HP curves looked like a roller coaster, very eratic but about a 1 HP gain, all my other pulls had a very smooth HP curve. without the seat on the air has a straight shot to the filter, with the seat on the bottom of the seat is about 1" from the airbox causing the air to make a sharp turn to the air filter & this causes the turbulance that resulted in the erratic HP curve.

We are working on a new web site that I hope works out. This is the 4th company we have tried, but I think it is going to be right this time. We are also working on a Raptor fuel injection system that is very hi tech. We have a new 525 stroker banshee that we are spending a lot of dyno time on. We also have a bolt on 450 stroker banshee power valve kit and a none stroker 410 power valve top end kit. These two motors will be available in about two weeks. We are also re-designing the cv manifold itself to flow better, we are spending a considerable amount of time at the flow bench and it is paying off. The new manifold will be available to buy separately as a upgrade. The list goes on, but you will see most of the new stuff at the web page as it is completed. Thanks for asking

Hey guys, didn't get a chance to look at your replies untill just a second ago. I have obviously tore this thing apart a thousand times as I have built and assembled every piece on it. Let me start by saying it was a long day on the Dyno, especially for $96. I spent around 3 hours on the dyno just playing with the jetting.

This was the first time I had the Raptor on a dyno, but the shop that I dyno'ed at had done quite a few other Raptor, Banshee's and Cannondale's (Dreyer Cycle, Indy). It was a 168/188 Dynojet Dyno, with WinPEP software. I started by asking what other moded raptors they had run pulled. They were seeing piped/intaked/jetted Raptors pulling a max of 35hp, and one Raptor had a high comp std. bore piston with moded airbox that pulled 39hp. Which totally goes against everything that has been printed in the magazines. I knew there weren't going to be any record breaking numbers today.

I tried to save all runs on a floppy and use the run viewer that is free from Dynojet, but must not have saved the correct file? The file I have is only 1Kb and has the extension *.dgp, which I think is the Dynojet Group something or other. Does anyone have any experience using the Dynojet or the Viewer?

To get to the runs, the first pull was exactly how I had been riding the machine and was what I thought was on the rich side. First pull(All pulls were made in 4th gear, I asked why and they said when run in other gears the airbox depleats the air available in the airbox and causes a very inconsistent run?) was 46hp and 38ft-lbs(don't have the exact #'s since I can't get the viewer to work yet). Needless to say I was puzzled? The Raptor is considerably faster than my piped/jetted/intaked/airbox modded stocker and the dyno is saying that it is still nowhere close to the magazines with just the pipes and airbox mods?

I think we got in 9 pulls total and ended up with a max HP of 49 and torque of 41. 10hp better than their highest hp quad they had run through the dyno, but still nowhere near the 58-63 that I was hoping for. I am sure there are ways to fool, change, or make more accurate the results but these are what I've got. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I don't feel so bad now, when I dynoed my 02 Raptor with a Sparks X6 W/ stainless headpipe, air box mods, Dynojets & Pro Flow adaptor & filter I got 41.3 HP, This was on a Dynojet automotive dyno. I was told that a auto dyno would give low HP numbers on a quad so I'm going to try it again on an ATV dyno this summer.

I agree, but I don't think we are comparing Apples to Apples, maybe we are? I am sure there are some others on this forum that might be able to shed some light on the outcome. I can't wait to get to a dragstrip or the dunes to run it against some competition, that will tell me where I really stand. I was happy to be able to tune another 3hp with jetting.

I built the motor myself, I had a lot of help with the porting and build, but did it myself. Same as the trinity without the big valve and I have the race cam instead of the midrange.

So what jetting changes did you make? Did you go richer or leaner? It seems my bike is running rich but I dont want to go too lean though.
