Well, I was able to drive her home today... She didnt fit in the back of my Avalanche so i just drove her down the snow trail to the road and on up the driveway... about 1.5 mi.

The most that i have been able to do is, run up and down the trail that is NOT snow packed anymore...mostly slush and mud!! that is good news too, means that maybe the snow will be gone in a couple more weeks....lol, (YAH RIGHT!) They dont know if we are going to get more snow now or not, just depends on how the jet stream moves...
OK, enough... about the bike/ride

I have went through a tank of gas with this test ride and let me tell ya... WoW... i only used the 4x4 one time because of stopping in the mush. The suspension is increadable... not quite as good as my truck..hehe BUT was smooth on and off the road...
Power... cant even tell you the power this girl has... SWEEEET
Handling... Smooth, through and through...
The response of the gas is awsome, never did i think that i was going to get stuck (i know that i will, cause that's just the way i like it!) But honestly, i would have to put her in really deep muck to stick it to her...
Once the snow melts, i will let ya all know how she does with hauling and towing... i will be clearing about 2 acres of woods to build my house this spring, so she will get a good workout..

I didnt really try to bring the front wheels off the ground, still breaking her in...but there was ALOT of power and i cant wait till she is loosen'd up a lil so i can thromp that gas!

Hope this helps anyone who is thinking of buying...

As far as problems...NONE (knock on wood) there will be, that i know, only because of the way that i ride

Hey Jon, i too have a beige grizzly 660, I like the color for camo reasons. I can easily hide it in the woods of Northern Maine. As far as take off and lifting the wheels. It does! and does it with authority!!! Just an example of how I ride. I purchased new on Feb. 22, 2002 I currently have 600 miles on it. No problems at all. I did have some valve noise so I brought it into the dealer for adjusting. he stated that the valves were tight. Just keep your ears open for valve smacking noise. you'll be able to tell because it gets loud. Don't get too paranoid because Yamaha's tend to make vavle noise even when well adjusted. I love this grizzly and would defenately purchase another. I have not yet expierenced the problems that others have. I was extremely dissapointed about all the post I read when I first got my quad. Now I've just decided to insure it and if the thing explodes due to heat I'll get a new one. If not than I'll ride this one! haha!

As they say, ALL brands have limons.... i can tell you, the only problem that i see as of now (15 hours) is that the handle bars are loose... BUT, the dealer was wiring the winch, so i think that they forgot to tighten them up... I am bringing it in on Monday to have the Winch mounted and to pick up a trailer... ONLY 5 more hours and i can loosen her up a lil!!! hehehehe

The snow here is still limiting me on what i can REALLY do... After the break in, i am heading down to Iron Mountain area and see if i can get a ride together... There isnt much snow there...

We are still getting hit with snow...OVER 300 inches now... not 10 miles north of me (where the inlaws live) they are WAY over 400 inches.... SOOOOOOO, it will be a lil while before the trails melt and i can just go explore right out ot the driveway....

Thanks all, will keep ya posted!

Congrats on your purchase! It doesn't fit in the back of an Avalance? Is it because it is too wide or because it is too long? I can't close the tailgate on a full size ram pickup when I put my prairie 650 in. I was thinking about getting an Avalance; I guess I'll have to take a tape measure with me when I test ride it.

92LT,

Just to let you know, it doesnt fit WIDTH wise.... it really SUCKS!!!! What is causing the limitation is the rain rales on the top of the box bed...(where the covers sit). There is no way around it either... AND it is stock! the fenders of the grizzly are about 3 inches to wide....so just imagine if you put offset wheels on there! I am looking for trailers right now, and it looks like there is a snowmobile trailer for around 800$ with torquetion(spelling) suspension... i really dont want leaf spring as they have a tendency to be a lil squirly and bounce empty... AND i should be able to fit up to 3 bikes on there...

If anyone knows of a cheaper one, let me know... Then again, i might just buy it tomarrow...LOL I am heading to IL/IN on wednesday to go ride with my best friend down there....(actually a reseption)but still a good reason to take the bike along..hehe
