When I first bought my 01 Raptor I noticed the electric fan would come on occasionally. This seemed pretty normal and when I shut off the motor it would run for 15-20 seconds then turn off. I have not been noticing the fan coming on at all lately and this weekend I was running it hard in the dunes and it was plenty warm (compared to the other times). Does anybody know a simple way to check the fan / sensor ??

Thanks, Eric

When I first got my raptor the fan came on quite often. Once it was broken in it only came on when it was really how and was riding tight slow trails. Still does but it needs to get pretty warm it seems.

Mine only comes on after an extended period of slow riding.
When your riding hard in the dunes you probably have enough air flow to keep the temp down.
Go for a slow ride, after mabey 20 min (more or less I'm just guessing on the time) it should be warm enough to kick the fan on.
As long as the temp light doesn't come on you should be ok. If the temp light comes on & the fan doesn't kick on you have a problem. I've heard that the Raptor doesn't like to be over heated.

Basicly what I'm saying is if the temp light doesn't come on no matter how hot it is out side you have enough air flow that the fan isn't needed.
