Is yamaha going to update the blaster? I heard that they were going to put elect. start, hydro discs in the front, and some other stuff. Are they really going to ad these things? If they do how much will the price be after all those upgrades?

Think I should wait for the goodies to buy one?

The dealer introductions are in October so if we haven't heard by now it's not going to be soon.
While it would be cool to update the Blaster, I wouldn't hold my breath!

Electric start on the blaster. I don't see that happening. Disk brakes on the front that would be a good update though. Slap in a liquid cooled YZ250 motor, now that would be an updated blaster.

Actually my vote would be for updated shocks, a 2" longer swingarm, and useable brakes. Other than that the blaster is a nice starter quad, dont forget it's an entry level machine for a bargain price. My short list shouldnt cause a major price increase like liquid cooling would or electric starting definitely would.

Yamaha will never update the Blaster. Look at the Banshee and Warrior, bith have received very little attention from Yamaha over the years. Yamaha treats its sport quad like Honda and Kawasaki treat the CR and KX 500's, new graphics, but old technology.

mintychip,
I just wish you weren't so right.

I was dreaming earlier and went to sleep and kept on writing I guess.

The CR500 was discontinued by Honda last year.

If they do anything to it, they will probably give it different shocks, maybe a little longer and wider, and most likely a 4-stroke motor. I don't think yamaha will leave the 2 stroke motor in it if they update it since they will probably ban two strokes in the next few years.

Just my opinions
