Before doing a thing, replace the spark plug.

Check to see if the Parking brake is engaged up on the handlebars. [I'm not assuming yours IS engaged, but most that come into the shop wind up in and out because someone left the parking brake on]

Check to see if the intake boot between the carburetor and engine has any cracks. This is very common with ALL Yamaha's. Spray some carburetor cleaner or WD-40 around the intake with the engine running. If it revs up, you need to replace the boot.

There is a carburetor vent hose coming from the carburetor that runs down toward the bottom of the machine. If it becomes partially clogged with mud, it can cause it to miss....or not run at all. Also check the vent hose to the fuel tank up on the gas cap.

Those are just common problems that I have seen with the Wolverine. If none of those are your problem, check the regular things to check with your problem.
Contaminated fuel [Water/dirt....take the fuel hose loose from the carburetor and make sure you get a STEADY flow of gas.

"Trash" in the carburetor. All Mikuni's seem to have weak rubber used on the needle valve. If you are cleaning your carburetor, check the condition of the needle valve while you are there.

Check to see if you have any obstructions in the air ways leading to the airbox. Dirt Dobbers and Rats are our enemies.
