I'm wondering how much this would affect the handeling for regular trail riding.
What are the pros and cons?
Who's got a fully locked diff, and what do you think of it?

Personally I like the limited-slip thats in it, but it may get better traction with the lock and I think it would steer harder, this is just a prediction though.

I liked teh limited slip too, but it's pretty much worn out now, so it's no longer a "limited" slip.
Don't let anyone ever tell you that the limited slip diff is no better than a 3 wheel drive. It does a pretty good job of dividing up the torque, and there's a big difference with mine now. Unfortuantly, the limited slip assembly is really expensive.

HEY THERE (THENEWFIEBULLET) I OWN A 2000 WOLVERINE AND HAVE ONE OF THOSE HIGHLIFTER DIFF LOCKERS IN THE FRONT OF MINE AND I REALLY LIKE IT. THE ONLY TIME IT IS REALLY DIFFICULT TO STEER IS ON PAVEMENT. IT ALSO REALLY TEARS THE HELL OUT OF YOUR YARD ALOT WORSE TOO. MAKES THE WIFE REALLY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!! ANYWAY, I DO ALOT OF CREEK RIDING WITH MINE AND IT REALLY HELPS.

yeah, it is really expensive. lol tearing up the yard is something im good at. speaking of creek riding, it rained really heavy here and i decided to go through the creek and the water was all muddy so i couldnt tell how deep it was and i ended up turing the wolverine over on its side in the water and really flooding it out. it went along way before it drowned out, i was surprised. i just got it running again about 30min ago. i am 5'10" and the water was up to my chest. needless to say it wasnt a good experience.

Hey rammy, thanks for your input. How is it for high speed trail riding?
It that a full locked front end now, with no slip whatsoever? Would you recommend it?

THENEWFIEBULLET,

I DONT REALLY KNOW THE EXACT LOCKER YOU ARE WANTING BUT MINE'S NOT THE DETROIT GEARLESS LOCKER, ITS JUST THE ATV LOCKER. BUT YES IT DOES FULLY LOCK THE FRONT TIRES TOGETHER AT ALL TIMES BUT LIKE I SAID AS FOR THE STEERING, ITS NOT ALL THAT BAD ACCEPT ON PAVEMENT OR CONCRETE.THE ONE THAT I HAVE WAS ONLY $170 FROM HIGHLIFTER. TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO GO TO HIGHLIFTER.COM UNDER THE ONLINE CATALOG AND TYPE IN "ATV LOCKER" AND MINE IS NUMBER ONE ON THAT PAGE. ANYWAY I REALLY LIKE THE ONE THAT I HAVE IT REALLY HELPS AND YES I WOULD RECOMMEND IT. AS FOR FAST TRAIL RIDING, I HARDLY EVEN NOTICE MINE'S LOCKED!!

HEY SpDdEmOn,YOU GOT PRETTY DAMN LUCKY IF YA GOT IT RUNNING RIGHT AGAIN. I TOTALLY SUBMERGED MY WOLVERINE IN THE CREEK ABOUT A FOOT OVER THE HANDLEBARS AND HAD TO LET IT DIE OUT ON ME BECAUSE I WAS ALONE AND HAD TO WINCH IT OUT. ONCE I GOT IT OUT I DRAINED ALL OF THE FLUIDS AND ALL OF THAT GOOD CRAP AND IT SEEMED TO RUN FINE UNTIL ABOUT A WEEK LATER. I TOOK IT FOR A LONG HARD RIDE FOR A FEW HOURS STRAIGHT AND IT STARTED KNOCKING AT ABOUT HALF THROTTLE AND UP. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT IT NEEDS REBUILT. THE TOP AND BOTTOM END. THAT SUCKED!!!!! IT RAN FINE UNTIL I RODE IT FOR ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO THEN IT STARTED ACTING UP, SO BE CAREFUL. GOOD LUCK WITH IT!!!!
