garyc660r,
It is a lot of riding but I stand by the estimate. To be honest, it might even be higher. I try to mark the number of hours on a calendar every time I ride trying to remember to deduct the hours we took breaks. I don't always remember to write down the time I spend riding in the yard and at a small mx track near the house. A lot of hours were put in during two 7 day long trips to Hatfield-McCoy trail system in WV. I also got laid off from work last May and took the summer off and then when I did decide to look for a job, the 911 thing kept me out of work until the middle of December. There were even a couple of months where the quad was in the shop and I didn't ride it at all. Hence the reason for keeping a spare 400ex.
Just last weekend, we drove about 4 hours Friday evening to get to a riding area in Southwestern PA. We rode a solid 6 hours on Saturday and 8 hours on Sunday. When riding, people are lucky to get a 2 minute smoke break. I usually keep riding when everyone else sits around. I only let people stop in play areas. I don't usually keep riding partners for very long. I don't stop for beer drinking and/or pot smoking.
lafngas,
I do almost all my own work now. I am not comfortable getting inside the engine though since I don't have all the right tools. I live about 2-3 hours from Mickey Dunlap's shop so I plan to take the engine to him.
